Is Riverside legit?
Short answer: yes, with two caveats worth knowing before you enter a card number. Updated 2026-08-07.

The company behind it
Riverside is operated by RiversideFM, Inc., founded in 2020 by brothers Nadav Keyson (CEO) and Gideon Keyson (CTO). The company has raised $47M in venture funding, including a $9.5M Series A in 2021 and a $35M Series B in 2022 led by Oren Zeev with participation from Lachy Groom and Alexis Ohanian's Seven Seven Six. Its investors and advisors include prominent creators like Guy Raz and Marques Brownlee.
The strongest legitimacy signal is not the funding. Since 2024 Spotify has embedded Riverside directly inside Spotify for Podcasters, and Riverside publishes case studies with Spotify, Intuit, and Marvel. A company does not get inside Spotify's creator tools without passing serious diligence.
Security and compliance
Riverside's Business plan carries SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications, offers SSO through Okta and Azure, and states that calls and recordings are encrypted. Recording happens locally on each participant's device and uploads to the account owner's workspace, which is also why quality survives bad connections.
The caveats, honestly
First, the BBB profile: RiversideFM, Inc. is not BBB accredited and carries a C rating. The complaint volume behind that grade is tiny (two complaints, one unanswered), so we read it as a company that ignores its BBB inbox rather than one mistreating customers at scale. Still, it is there, and we would rather show it to you than hide it.
Second, the review corpus. Across 96 collected reviews, the recurring complaints are operational: recordings that fail at bad moments, support that is slow when they do, and annual auto-renewal charges that reviewers say were hard to cancel. Trustpilot, the most consumer-facing platform, rates Riverside 3.8 while G2's verified business users rate it 4.8. Read the critical Trustpilot reviews before an annual commitment, and start monthly if you are unsure.
Bottom line
Riverside is a legitimate, well-funded product with real enterprise customers and real compliance certifications. It is not a scam. The risks are ordinary SaaS risks: bugs at inconvenient times and billing terms that favor the vendor. The free plan requires no credit card, which is the zero-risk way to find out if it fits.

Is Riverside a real company?+
Yes. RiversideFM, Inc. was founded in 2020 by brothers Nadav and Gideon Keyson and has raised $47M, including a $35M Series B led by Oren Zeev with participation from Alexis Ohanian's Seven Seven Six. Spotify embeds Riverside inside Spotify for Podcasters.
Is Riverside safe to give camera and microphone access?+
Riverside is a mainstream recording tool used by large companies. On the Business plan it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications and offers SSO. Recordings are captured locally on each participant's device and uploaded to the user's own account.
Will Riverside charge me after I cancel?+
The most common complaint in the review corpus is billing friction: annual auto-renewal and cancellations people found hard to complete. The product is not a scam, but set a calendar reminder before your renewal date and keep written confirmation when you cancel.
Why is Riverside's Trustpilot score lower than its G2 score?+
G2 (4.8 from 1,751 reviews) collects verified business-user reviews, while Trustpilot (3.8 from 486) is open to any customer and attracts complaint traffic, especially about billing and support. Both are real signals; read them together.
